Aston Villa fans have been calling on Twitter for Bjorn Engels to step in for the injured Tyron Mings in Villa’s next games.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying information originally published by the Daily Mail that Mings will miss the rest of the month with injury.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who want to see Engels step up to fill in for the injured Englishman.
Should Bjorn Engels start against Sheffield United at the weekend?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Villa fans wanting Engels to play in the place of Mings:
I’m loving Engels instead

It looks like Engels and Konza then as they are both up to match speed. Hause as back up on bench. Whoever DS picks I will support he will get it right he knows them from training. There will be ‘supporters’ who know better though. UTV

Engels will step straight into his boots..

The 25-year-old centre-half replaced Mings in the first half in their 4-1 defeat to Leicester at the weekend when the Englishman was forced off due to a hamstring injury. Despite conceding three goals while Engels was on the pitch, some Villa fans still think the Belgian is the right man to fill in for Mings.
Engels and Konsa start Saturday. If it doesn’t work would love to see Hause there.

What do we think?
While Mings’ injury is unfortunate, it’s good to see these Villa fans put so much faith and belief in Engels to step up and fill in for the defender. If he can put in a run of good performances in the Villa backline, just like he did at the start of this season, he could well become a tough competitor for Mings when he returns from injury.
