Aston Villa fans have been reminiscing over former Villa Park pair Ashley Young and Gabriel Agbonlahor.
This comes after the official Aston Villa Twitter account shared a throwback post on their page of Villa’s 1-0 win over Manchester United in 2009.
The post showed footage of the former Villa stars linking up to score Villa’s winning goal at Old Trafford.
This then led to many Villa fans replying with their appreciation for the duo.
Who was the better Villa player?
Ashley Young
Gabriel Agbonlahor
Here’s a sample of Villa fans reaction to the club post:
Gabby deserves to be given a testimonial, for his goals against Blues alone, but also around about this time when he scored so many big goals for us

Despite not playing for the club anymore, Young and Agbonlahor appear to be fan-favourites at Villa Park. Young made 190 appearances for the Birmingham club, scoring 37 goals and providing 59 assists during his time at Villa Park (per Transfermarkt). Whereas, Agbonlahor made 391 appearances for the club, scoring 86 and assisting 57 (per Transfermarkt).
This post from the club has made some Villa fans remember how good the pair were during their time together at Villa Park.

What do we think?
It’s good to see that some Villa fans still have a lot of love for the duo 10 years after their brilliant link-up play at Old Trafford. Given that Villa are now sat in 17th place in the Premier League table, it’s no wonder why some fans wish they still had Young and Agbonlahor at the club.
