Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react to the latest injury update to defender Matt Targett.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @astonforza shared a post on their page relaying quotes made by manager Dean Smith to Birmingham Live that Targett has suffered a hamstring injury.
Will Targett be a big miss for Villa?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a number of replies from Villa fans who were less than sympathetic with Targett’s latest injury.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans reacting to the post:
He bottled it again. Just like against wolves.

Goes down most games. Not got the stomach or heart when things get tough and he’s not the only one

The 24-year-old left-back, who is valued at £11.7 million (as per Transfermarkt), suffered the hamstring injury during Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Smith also claimed that Villa’s packed run of fixtures was to blame for Targett’s injury.
This post did not go down too well with some Villa fans who were fed up with this latest injury.
Hasn’t really looked fully fit since he started playing for us……hause LB New Year’s Day please

Math Targett is a bottle job simple as. Every game he’s gone off is when the going has got tough

What do we think?
It’s sad to see Targett pick up the injury but it’s even sadder to see these Villa fans kicking him while he’s down instead of wishing him well. The fans should be rallying around Targett and the manager instead of criticising them, but then again the mood is completely down at Villa Park after their disappointing recent run.
