The defender picked up a hamstring injury in the first half of Villa’s 4-1 defeat to Leicester City last weekend. Since then it was reported that Mings may miss the rest of the month with the injury.
Now in his latest press conference, Smith revealed that Mings is a certainty to miss their showdown with Sheffield United. This news then got some Villa fans talking on Twitter.
Think mings needed a break anyway, been alot sloppy in the last few weeks

What about Chester??? If he is on form Mings will find it hard to get back in. Make him fight for a position I say.

What do we think?
Mings will be a miss for Villa, regardless of his recent form, as he has played in every Premier League game so far this season for Dean Smith’s side (per Transfermarkt). When he’s been good he’s been unbreachable for Villa.
But, the likes of Bjorn Engels, Ezri Konsa and Kortney Hause are all more than capable of stepping up.
