Aston Villa fans have been responding on Twitter to the latest post from Gregg Evans on Villa’s upcoming January transfer window.
This comes after the Villa journalist shared a post on his official Twitter page claiming that the club will get through January “with a low spend and then reassess” when the summer transfer window opens.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who were quick to share their views on this latest development.
How many signings should Villa bring in next month?
1-2
3 or more
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to Evans’ post:
Loan to buy or are we prepared to be more short term to keep us up?
Going to be v important but tbh our most crucial period of season will be before we can get anyone in

I thought we had a couple of billionaires in charge making us as rich as most of the top teams and money was no,longer an problem. Seems their wallets are not as fat as we were led to believe.

Batshuayi, Pedro, Hudson-odoi,
Lallana, shaqiri, origi,
Fodan, mahrez
Lingard, martial
Lamela, sessegnonAll players not starting for their club but could make such a difference to us I reckon. Would even chuck Juan mata in from utd too

Evans’ post eluded to the fact that Villa are likely not to splash out on any big-money signings but instead likely to loan in a striker or winger, which is down to their Financial Fair Play concerns.
This news then got a lot of Villa fans talking about what their club should do in the upcoming transfer window.
This gets resolved with eventual sale of Grealish. Most fans need to be realistic, he is head and shoulders above Villa in terms of ability, and who could begrudge him that move. But let’s be clear, it’ll be on our terms (any clause was subject to not getting promotion)

Let’s face it, they dont want to spend because they know were getting relegated this season.

100% need a striker and a winger

What do we think?
It’s clear looking at these replies that a lot of Villa fans think the club need to be active in the upcoming January transfer window. Whether they will or not is up to Dean Smith and the Villa board. But these Villa fans think the rest of their season in the Premier League relies on any potential transfers in January, which is yet to be proven but it’s obvious that another striker could be of use as Jonathan Kodjia and Wesley have only produced a combined total of seven goals in all competitions.
