Aston Villa fans have been sharing their delight on Twitter with Wesley’s goal against Liverpool in midweek.
This comes after the official Aston Villa Twitter account shared a post on their page announcing the goal scored by the Brazilian in Villa’s 5-0 win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who were overjoyed with Wesley’s goal.
Will Wesley go on a goal scoring run now?
Yes
No
Here’s what some fans had to say:
I know it’s against a bunch of kids but I’m so happy for him he needed a goal

The 23-year-old has been on a dry spell in terms of goal-scoring recently. In 17 Premier League appearances, Wesley has only managed to score four goals. His last league goals for Villa came back in October when he scored a brace in the 5-1 win over Norwich (per TransferMarkt).
Now with his latest goal against Liverpool in midweek, it made some Villa fans happy to see his name on the scoresheet once again.
wes scoring that one chance is more important than the win as he misses that and I’d say his confidence is totally shot for the season so regardless of who or what age the pool lads are that goal is so important, fair play the young pool lads are very promising so fair play

It’s crazy when you give your striker a chance he can actually score

What do we think?
Wesley’s goal in midweek will be a huge confidence boost for the lad after such a long spell without a goal. If Wesley can use this latest goal as a springboard to kick off a good run of form for Villa, he could be a much-needed shining light for the side this season.
