Last night, West Brom managed to secure a late winner against Preston North End in the Championship. The win put them at the top of the table ahead of Leeds United by two points. Had they only managed to tie, West Brom would still be in second because of a lesser goal differential (Sky Sports).
However, Leeds fans we’re unhappy with West Brom because of the manner in which they won. The last-minute penalty was awarded when Kyle Edwards went down in the box. Rival fans labelled it as a blatant dive. The Preston North End Police Department tweeted at West Brom, warning them to watch their step on the way out in case they fell over. It was a dig at the team after the suspicious way in which they won.
But West Brom’s Twitter account responded, claiming that they were just salty after losing. West Brom fans loved the banter, demanding that the admin receive a pay rise.

Can West Brom keep a hold of their lead at the top of the league?
Yes
No
Another supporter indicated the tweet’s quality was deserving of a spot at the top of the table, just like the team.

What do we think?
West Brom fans would be foolish to openly admit that Edwards dived. For now, they will just be happy to be at the top of the league. They will be headed towards the Premier League if they don’t let their lead ‘slip’.
