Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Lille are open to selling midfielder Boubakary Soumare to Tottenham in the January transfer window.
According to French news outlet L’Equipe (via TranSPURS), Lille are considering selling the midfielder in January and are hoping to receive around €50 million (£43 million) for the 20-year-old. The youngster has established himself as a regular in the Lille midfield and recently impressed in Lille’s 2-1 defeat by Chelsea; earning a 7.65 rating.
The report from L’Equipe suggests that Soumare is keen to play in the Premier League, with Tottenham likely suitors, but they will face competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Napoli and Valencia for his signature. The former PSG man has also become a regular for France’s u’21 side in recent times, having made his debut in September of this year.

What we gonna do with him? Put him on the bench besides Lo Celso and Ndombele and Sessegnon?

No one is going to come in this January because levy is that type of person who will not give you cash even when you need it the most. Moreover whoever becomes the coach it doesn’t matter until and unless levy invests money we are not going to win this is for sure. So don’t hope

Not a bad move but not the best. I think it’s time to bring in ready made players.

Spurs fans are clearly split on the potential signing of Soumare, with some very keen on the 20-year-old whereas others feel the club should move for a more experienced midfielder.
What do we think?
It would be a surprise to see Spurs make a move for Soumare, especially after the club signed fellow midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in a club-record deal over the summer. However, if the reports are true and Mourinho is a big fan of the 20-year-old, then don’t rule out Spurs signing the £19.8 million rated man in January.
