A lot of Newcastle United fans want to know what their club are doing in the transfer window after the North East’s Sky Sports presenter Keith Downie provided an update on the Toon.
Downie claimed that Newcastle’s top target is Jarrod Bowen and that he would not be surprised to see the winger arrive in January.
Apart from that, though, it is likely to be loan deals with a striker and a winger at the top of the list.
In terms of outgoings Ki Sung-Yeung, Dwight Gayle, and Yoshinori Muto are all available while Jack Colback and Henri Saivet should also depart the club.
Is this a positive transfer update for Newcastle?
Yes
No
This update has got a lot of Newcastle fans talking.
The bit about the midfielders is wrong. I didn’t write that. There’s been a mistake. Will get that changed. They aren’t looking for a midfielder that I know of.

this is disturbing, the midfield is clearly the weak point of the team but let’s blame the striker who gets absolutely no service week in week out

What do we think?
It seems that after their breaking transfer record last summer, Newcastle will not be in any rush to spend money, and it could be a quiet month for the Toon in the transfer market.
If they could get Bowen, that would be a major coup, but they will face stiff competition for his signature.
Loan deals, therefore, seem the most likely solution for Steve Bruce’s men, and many Newcastle fans are just going to have to wait patiently to see what their side do.
