Some Southampton fans have been bashing the club’s latest ticket information about their ticket office operating on reduced timings ahead of their upcoming Premier League game against Aston Villa.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have lost their last two games in the league, meaning that they’ve failed to take advantage of their wins over Watford and Norwich City towards the end of last month.

Their next game in the Premier League is against Dean Smith’s struggling Aston Villa, who too haven’t won a single game out of their last four outings.

Southampton fans: Are you happy with the reduced operation of the ticket office?

I'm fuming!

Nothing wrong with it

But when the Saints’ ticket office revealed that they will operate on reduced hours on Monday, Southampton fans bashed them and feel that they’re replicating the team.

The defeat to Newcastle United and the weekend’s loss to West Ham left the Saints at the 18th spot in the Premier League. They have 15 points in the bag and are only three points clear of 19th placed Norwich.

Hasenhuttl’s men currently have the worst defensive record in the Premier League. They have conceded as many as 36 goals. Their 9-0 loss to Leicester has worsened their defensive record and the Saints have kept only two clean sheets this season – both via Angus Gunn.

When it comes to the attacking side, Southampton have scored the fourth-least number of goals in the division. They’ve found the back of the net 18 times in the Premier League, with Danny Ings having got nine of those goals.

What do we think?

It’s fair to say that Southampton aren’t in the best spot. And their over-reliance on Ings’ goals is highly concerning. But the game against Villa could well prove to a relegation six-pointer for both sides. A win for them could lift them above the relegation zone and leave the other in the bottom three. If Hasenhuttl’s men do win it, they could well start the next year with a bounce.
