A lot of Newcastle United fans disagree with Mark Douglas’ claims that Kenedy was the worst NUFC player of the decade – during his second spell with the club.

The Brazilian made 25 appearances for the Toon last year and scored one goal but was replaced by Christian Atsu and then Miguel Almiron after a series of awful displays.

Who was worse?

The 23-year-old started the season with a missed penalty and then went downhill from there.

However, many Newcastle fans feel some worse players played for the club from 2010 to 2019.

One player who is mentioned by a lot of Toon fans is Emmanuel Riviere.

Other Newcastle supporters disagree that Kenedy was one of the worst players.

What do we think?

Kenedy, who is valued at £10.8m by Transfermarkt, was poor last year, but the Toon have had much worse players, and Riviere has to be up there.

The Frenchman was signed for £5m from Monaco and managed to score one goal in the Premier League in 26 appearances.

This goal was also a massive fluke as he managed to hit the ball into his standing foot, and that then looped up and over the QPR goalkeeper. (0:10)

The following season as Steve McClaren was edging closer to losing his job; the former Middlesbrough boss started the Frenchman against Bournemouth.

It backfired horribly as Newcastle were thumped 3-1 McClaren was sacked, and Riviere was never seen in a Newcastle shirt again.

Kenedy was terrible, but he was nowhere near as poor as Riviere.
