Liverpool fans have been reminiscing on Emre Can’s time at Anfield after footage of his bicycle kick goal emerges.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on their page asking their followers of they remember Can’s extravagant goal against Watford back in 2017.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were all eager to share their opinions on Can and his goal.
Was Emre Can right to leave Liverpool?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans discussing the German:
Had so much potential. Shame he’s now nothing but a bench warmer for Juventus. On the positive side if he had stayed we wouldn’t have signed Fabinho

Strange that all the player who left Liverpool to search for glory .. they now miss all the glory and moreover they messed up their chances to be something

Emre under Brog, didn’t have an opportunity to master a position, seems he didn’t have the patience with Klopp… unfortunate. This wasn’t the only smart move on a goal.

The midfielder left the Merseyside club in 2018 for Italian side Juventus after spending four years at Liverpool (per TransferMarkt). In his time at Anfield, Can made 167 appearances, scoring 14 goals and picking up 12 assists (per TransferMarkt). One of those goals being a stunning bicycle kick against Watford back in 2017 made the rounds on Twitter again, which gave some Liverpool fans the opportunity to discuss the midfielder.
He was useless. Great business getting rid, oh how he loved/loves himself. ‘emre cant’ the most overrated player ever!! The Queen Mary turns quicker than him! That was a fluke goal by the way. COYR!

Slate him all you want but this goal was crucial for us getting top 4 that season and building from that!

Yes. And I remember him hitting the road for a few more quid in Italy. Should concentrate on the players who were loyal to the club instead of the ones who left for financial reasons.

What do we think?
Given that some Liverpool fans still don’t appreciate the way in which Can handled his exit from Anfield over to Turin, it seems that even this spectacular goal doesn’t change anything.
