Following the 3-1 win over Leicester City, Phil Foden was pictured having a chat with Caglar Soyuncu – a player with whom Manchester City have been linked.
These fans are convinced the 19-year-old was doing his bit to persuade the Turkish international he would benefit from a move to the Etihad stadium. Although we will never know the content of the exchange between the pair, speculation following their seemingly friendly discussion isn’t going away.

Foden was introduced to proceedings on the 89th minute replacing Raheem Sterling but despite it being just a brief cameo appearance these fans were keen to express their love and admiration for the England Under-21 international.

What do we think?
City’s defensive troubles have been one of the big talking points in and around the Etihad Stadium this season and naturally they will be linked with one of the divisions top central-defenders. Soyuncu, who is valued at £36 million (as per Transfermarkt), has been brilliant this season and looks to have come on leaps and bounds under Brendan Rodgers, but it appears that at least for the time-being he is staying put despite Foden’s best efforts.
The two clubs are now separated by just a solitary point having played their last fixture before Christmas. The race for second place is hotting up and both will be keen to close the gap on the league leaders Liverpool after what could be a tough period for them also.
