Man is a monster once again!
Rocky start of the season with a poor preseason outing. Glad he put the work in to match his outlook of the game with his physical attributes. Not to mention his run in with the snake and being boo’d by your fellow countrymen. pic.twitter.com/RQNITGbZ7C— Jürgen Meister?? (@SS_LFC) December 30, 2019

Is Joe Gomez better than Virgil van Dijk?
Yes
No
The 22-year-old’s best performances have come in the UEFA Champions League, with the centre-back averaging a WhoScored rating of 6.9/10 in that competition, which may be the reason as to why one fan suggest he was England’s best centre-back at the moment.

6 games 6 clean sheets, Gomez is a animal

What Do We Think?
Gomez, who is valued at £31.5 million (Transfermarkt), is definitely fighting for starts again, which is good to see with the European Championships just around the corner; his rise in form is coming at a very useful time for the 22-year-old.
However, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk both have better average WhoScored ratings than Gomez, but this could just be down to the number of minutes the other centre-backs have had compared to the former Charlton Athletic man. Nevertheless, you can be certain that the Englishman will be getting a lot more minutes from now on.
