Supporters of Everton have stated that they do not want to see Seamus Coleman make a return from injury for the clash with Manchester United.

The Irishman has been missing for the Toffees for a number of weeks and on Thursday afternoon Duncan Ferguson explained that he is hopeful to have him back for the trip to Old Trafford (as per Everton).

Despite the apparent good news of a first-team player coming back from injury, Everton fans were not as keen on the 31-year-old full-back making a comeback.

Who should start at right-back against Manchester United on Sunday?

Seamus Coleman

Across his career with the Toffees, Coleman has featured in 299 games for the Goodison Park club, in which he has netted 26 goals and 28 assists (per Transfermarkt).

However, after suffering injury, Djibril Sidibe stepped into the fold in Coleman’s absence and many felt like the Frenchman was a better option to remain in the starting lineup.

What do we think?

With a sturdy 7/10 rating in the 3-1 victory over Chelsea last time out, plus an assist (per Liverpool Echo), it is clear why the Goodison Park faithful are growing to be infatuated with the Frenchman.

Even if Coleman, who is valued at £10.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), should be available following injury, Sidibe should retain his spot in the starting lineup on merit.
