After another game without a win, Sunderland fans are growing tired of fruitless performances. Their home match versus Coventry on the weekend garnered just one point after Benji Kimpioka scored an equalizer in the 90th minute.
Soon after the match fan account, Speak Sunderland, reminisced about the good old days. Right before the turn of their downfall, Sunderland employed Sam Allardyce as their manager. During that time Sunderland we’re still in the Premier League.
The account posted a photo of a Sunderland starting lineup. The squad featured some fairly big names, including Patrick van Aanholt and Jermain Defoe. Even Jordan Pickford, England’s number one goalkeeper, was on the bench. It reminded fans just how far they had fallen.

What do we think?
Right now the Premier League seemed so far away for Sunderland fans. The team’s current squad aren’t getting the job done. Perhaps bringing in some of the club’s illustrious alumni isn’t such a bad idea after all?
