There are so many great football team Twitter accounts out there. Clubs like AS Roma, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Toronto FC all have creative admins who push the boundaries of what football teams can post about online. However, that’s easy to do when the team is winning. Being the admin of a struggling football team’s Twitter account is probably one of the most difficult jobs in the world.

Sunderland’s admin must have appreciated that sentiment after posting about a competition to win tickets to the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The tweet was published just one day after the team’s home loss to Burton. Needless to say, supporters were quick to make fun of the post.

Others indicated that there was only one thing they wanted to hear announced from the club. Until Phil Parkinson is sacked, they couldn’t care less about other statements.

What do we think?

Fans don’t want to hear anything from the club’s Twitter account right now. Not unless it’s announcing a new manager, that is. Unless the club’s Twitter admin can strap on their boots and start coaching the team, their job is going to be a fruitless one.
