Riyad Mahrez left Leicester City in July 2018 to join Manchester City, but despite some supporters feeling disappointed by the Algerian’s eventual desire to move on, the attacker left knowing he had achieved the unthinkable at the King Power Stadium.
The club’s official Twitter account have posted a video of Mahrez’s stunning goal at the Etihad versus his current employers during the 2015/16 title-winning campaign.
This game in particular has been bookmarked by Leicester City fans as the day they started to believe the title was heading to the East-Midlands.
Did Mahrez's move impact his legendary status with the club?

What do we think?
When Mahrez, who is valued at £54 million (Transfermarkt), arrived from French club Le Havre at 22-years-old, very few predicted he would become the sensational player he has turned out to be. Voted as the PFA Player of the Year during that title-winning campaign, Mahrez had reached unimaginable heights.
Linked with moves away, the Algerian international made no secret of his desire to move on and that resulted in a breakdown in his relationship with some of the clubs supporters. However, there were others who recognised it would be difficult for the club to hold on to a player of such high quality when a number of the Premier League giants were circling and were thankful for all he had done in the famous blue shirt.
Within the fanbase, there will always be a divide on Mahrez but there’s no doubt that in years to come he will be looked back on as a club legend given his pivotal role in Leicester City’s most famous ever season.
