This week, the Rangers U16 side beat Motherwell’s U16 team 5-0. The dominant performance didn’t appear to cause any problems for the young Gers. It appears that teams at every level the Rangers organisation are exceeding expectations.

The U16 side are causing problems for most teams they come up against, the Rangers Colts have progressed to the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup (BBC) and the first team are competing and every competition but they are part of right now open (Sky Sports).

Rangers fans were happy to see that the youth team are finding success. They admitted that the lads were on fire claiming that the group is ruthless as they smash teams on a regular basis. One fan believes the side are on their way to lifting the league title.

Another fan says the club should consider setting up a match between the U16s and the U18s. He believes that this would be the best way to expose the team to better competition.

What do we think?

Steven Gerrard will be happy to know there is a strong group of youngsters ready to make the leap from youth football to the professional level. With the way that the first team are playing now, however, he probably won’t be making any changes soon.
