In recent weeks, Rangers’ starting XI has seemed to pick itself. Well, for the most part, that is. Steven Gerrard side has been pretty solid defensively resulting in limited changes to the manager’s back four. Allan McGregor has solidified himself as the number one shot-stopper despite picking up a knock a few weeks ago (WhoScored.com).
The front line is a little bit trickier, however. Alfredo Morelos has been on such fine form recently that it would be near impossible for Gerrard to leave him out. A fit Ryan Kent seems to be the go-to choice for the gaffer on the left, however, other players have been cycled in and out. Scott Arfield has shown his consistency on the right, allowing players like Brandon Barker to occasionally make their way into the lineup (WhoScored.com).
However, when it comes to the midfield there seems to be a bit more shuffling. One Rangers fan account asked fans who they would pick to start in a midfield three. There seemed to be a unanimous agreement that Ryan Jack and Steven Davis would automatically make it into every supporter’s starting three, but the third position seems to be up for grabs. Many fans are undecided between Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara.

Some fans admitted that while Glen Kamara would currently be their go-to third pick, Aribo has the potential of being the best midfielder of the four in the not so distant future. They see great potential in him.

What do we think?
Steven Gerrard will be spoilt for choice with this midfield selection. Should all four stay fit, they will certainly challenge each other for a spot in the starting lineup. It is great news for the manager who is bidding for the club’s 55th league title.
