Newcastle fans on Twitter have been calling for Miguel Almiron to be dropped from the team for another poor performance in their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
This comes after Newcastle news Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post on their page criticising the forward on his display against Villa last night.
This post then led to many Newcastle fans following suit as they slated the Paraguayan and pleaded for him to be dropped from the team.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans slating Almiron:
He’s absolutely horrific. Should have been dropped weeks ago but a lot of fans still drool over him for some reason

Woeful performance! Needs dropped

His wild attempts on target = desperation. He needs a break, and then to be worked back in. #nufc

The 25-year-old has now hit 22 games for Newcastle without scoring a goal or making an assist in any competition (per Transfermarkt). The forward, who is currently valued at £18 million, according to Transfermarkt, signed for the Tyneside club in January this year from Atlanta United for a fee of £21 million.
Now into his first full season at the club, some Newcastle fans are starting to lose patience with Almiron.
Him and joelinton should be dropped for Man City, with Gayle and Carroll coming in. To have no assists or goals after 22 games is shocking from a forward player his work rate alone should not guarantee him a starting place! Work rate should be a minimum for every player!

We can’t keep defending him time he was dropped.

Needs dropping for Atsu now.

What do we think?
Having gone over 20 games with no goals or assists, it’s clear now that some Newcastle fans think a change in the team is needed. If Steve Bruce feels it’s time for a switch-up in the starting XI, someone like Andy Carroll or Dwight Gayle could make a return to the first team in place of the misfiring Almiron.
