Liverpool fans on Twitter have been reminiscing over now Crystal Palace player Mamadou Sakho’s time as a Liverpool player.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post on their page asking their followers for their opinions on the defender.
This post then gathered many replies from Liverpool fans wanting to share their thoughts on Sakho’s time at the club, mostly being negative replies.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans slating Sakho for his time at Anfield:
Was never good enough just the best of a bad bunch

Nothing special. Looked like bambi with the ball

Not that good but better than Lovren.

The 29-year-old joined the Merseyside club in 2013 from French side PSG for a fee of £17.1 million. Sakho spent four years as a Liverpool player before being sold to fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace for a fee of £25 million (per Transfermarkt).
Despite appearing 80 times for Liverpool, not many Reds fans look back on Sakho’s time at the club favourably.
Never good enough to wear the shirt. Absolute liability and thankfully Klopp soon got rid

Absolute clown. Couldn’t pass a ball and was rash.

Literally couldn’t run with the ball

What do we think?
Sakho’s problem at Liverpool was that he was at the club at the wrong time. During his time at Anfield, Liverpool were starting to transition from a mid-table team to a top team challenging for titles. As this transition continued it became evidently clear that Sakho just did not fit the desired quality standard for a club with such ambitions.
