Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their delight with captain Jordan Henderson’s performance in their 3-1 win over Premier League Champions Manchester City.
This praise comes after Liverpool journalist Joel Rabinowitz shared a post on his Twitter page surprised that some people still criticise the Liverpool captain.
This tweet then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to agree with Rabinowitz’s praise for the 29-year-old.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans delighted with Henderson.
When Gerrard left, he tried to fill that role, it wasn’t right for him or the club. He finally played his own game to his own strengths. It took time but he managed to show his class and role at the club. He will never be Gerrard, but he is his own player now.

I’ll never understand how peeps just rips on Hendo relentlessly every single time he’s on the pitch. Hendo is a very good STUD midfielder all around. For those nay-sayers… keep yapping, Hendo will only get better and better each game.

Football is all about skills, tricks and technique it seems. Little do many on twitter realise football is a team game, which requires tactics, leadership and game intelligence. Rather have most of my players with the latter 3 attributes. He plays for the team.

In the 3-1 win over City, Henderson assisted Liverpool’s third goal with a delightful cross to find Sadio Mane at the back post who headed in past Claudio Bravo in the second half. As well as the wonderful assist, it was Henderson’s overall performance that earned him praise from fans on Twitter.
He was excellent today. He hasn’t been excellent in every game this season r close to it. It’s ok to say he has had bad game as well as when he has had a good game. Called an opinion

That’s how Liverpool midfielders play..one match a certain player don’t fit next match someone else is excellent.. I really get why Klopp select the same everytime….. I have matches where I’d rather see OX taking shots than hendo crossing

Same people who don’t watch quality Football and understand, every team needs a player who gives 100% every game.

One supporter even suggested that the Englishman outplayed Kevin De Bruyne.

What do we think?
Henderson’s assist for Mane’s goal was special, for a player who doesn’t usually send crosses into the box, it was certainly one from the top drawer. Yesterday’s cross to Mane was the Englishman’s first assists in the current campaign, but he could soon find himself with a couple more if he continues to get into crossing positions.
It’s now clear after some early season criticisms, Henderson has proved himself as a vital team player for Liverpool.
