Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their delight with the news that Matteo Ritaccio has signed his first professional contract with the club.
This wave of joy came after the official Liverpool Twitter account shared a post on their page announcing the news of the youngster’s professional contract.
This tweet then led to a number of Liverpool fans replying with their positive messages for the 18-year-old.

The teenager joined the Liverpool U18’s in August 2018 from United States side Blau Weiss Gottschee (per Transfermarkt). Ritaccio has made five appearances for the Reds U18 team so far this season, scoring one goal and making two assists. These appearances have seen the youngster play as a central midfielder, as well as out on the left (per Transfermarkt).
What do we think?
To spend just one year with the U18’s before being offered a professional contract just goes to show how deserving and hard-working Ritaccio has been to earn it. It’s always good to see young players rise through their clubs’ ranks and progress through to the higher levels.
From the replies from some Liverpool supporters, it seems Ritaccio has already hit it off with the fans, who are looking forward to seeing the midfielder’s time at Anfield blossom.
