Liverpool fans on Twitter have been making fun of Raheem Sterling’s poor record playing at Anfield for Manchester City.

This wave of abuse came after the @LivEchoLFC shared a post on their official Twitter page stating Sterling’s zero goals, assists and shots on target in six games playing against Liverpool at Anfield.

This post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who saw this as an opportunity to slate their former-player.

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans making fun of Sterling’s record:

Sterling left Liverpool in 2015 to join current Premier League champions Manchester City for a fee of £57.33 million (per Transfermarkt). Since then, the Englishman has won two Premier League titles, three Carabao Cups, one Charity Shield and one FA Cup (per Transfermarkt).

Despite his domestic successes at City, some Liverpool fans feel the need to get one over on their former winger by slating his poor run of performances when playing back at Anfield.

What do we think?

Considering how successful Sterling has become since his move away from Liverpool, it’s only natural that some Reds fans will take any opportunity they can to slate the 24-year-old.

On the other hand, to play six games at Anfield and not even have a shot on target, never mind not scoring or making an assist, must be rather concerning from his own personal perspective. But, the credit must go the the Reds’ defence for keeping the Englishman at bay, which is not an easy task, as he has 14 goals to his name already this season alone.
