Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their frustrations with the latest referee appointment in their next Premier League game.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on their official page announcing the news that Martin Atkinson will referee the Reds’ weekend Premier League game against Brighton.
This post then gathered many replies from Liverpool fans who were less than pleased with this latest news.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans not happy with Atkinson’s appointment:

To allow Atkinson anywhere near a Liverpool game again is pathetic & spiteful, the man is biased against us he always has been & if old Trafford thought us anything he’s never gonna change, @FA @premierleague should be ashamed, we get him more than any other ref

Again? What should we do to stop this man from officiating our games

Liverpool vs Referee

The last time Atkinson took charge of a Liverpool match was in their 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in. Atkinson caused some controversy in the match for not giving a foul in Liverpool’s favour in the build-up to United’s goal, so fans have every reason to be sceptical.
Now with the news of Atkinson’s appointment in their next league game, some Liverpool fans are not pleased.
Will Liverpool beat Brighton at the weekend?
Yes
No
Don’t expect Liverpool to get easy it easy. We are playing against 12 men on Saturday.

What do we think?
It’s understandable why some Liverpool fans aren’t fans of Atkinson given their last game with him as the referee.
The Reds haven’t lost since 2017 in games in which Atkinson has been in charge, but they have failed to win in the last two games he has officiated in, grabbing a point against Manchester United and Manchester City.
