Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their criticisms over Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling after his England bust-up with Joe Gomez.
This criticism came after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldEdition shared a post that contained a screenshot of Sterling’s explanation about the clash he shared on his Instagram.
This tweet then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to slate their former player.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans criticising Sterling:

It has been reported that Gomez and Sterling have been involved in a bust-up while on international duty. Indeed, it seems as if there’s still a lot of emotions running through the Man City man after a coming together at Anfield on Sunday evening (BBC Sport). This recent clash in the England camp has resulted in manager Gareth Southgate dropping Sterling for Thursday’s Euro 2020 qualifying match against Montenegro.
Damage control and preemptive victim-playing just in case he gets abused online.

What do we think?
Despite apologising for the clash, some Liverpool fans saw this as an opportunity to criticise Sterling for his move away from Liverpool to City in 2015. Although, it’s fair to say he’s come on leaps and bounds since leaving Anfield and is now valued at £126 million (as per Transfermarkt).
But with this clarification of this incident from the Premier League champion, it’s good to see the clash did not escalate and everything is now fine between the pair.
