Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their disappointment with Naby Keita’s performance against KRC Genk on Tuesday.
This comes after Liverpool fan account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on Twitter asking their followers what they made of Keita’s performance in the match.
This then led to numerous Liverpool fans sharing their disdain for the midfielder’s actions in the game.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans not happy with Keita’s performance:
Poor. Runs into to many dead ends, delays a pass, lacks vision.

Didn’t do much and still not aggressive when defending. A lot more improvement needed as well as intensity to be a regular starter. Hope I’m proved wrong but at the moment he seems like a wasted signing

Game passes him by at the moment, he looks like he’s lacking confidence , it’ll come with more game time and no more interruptions from injury. There’s a player in there 100%

During his time at Liverpool, the Guinea international has had a handful of injuries that have made him miss a total of 19 games for the club. This season, Keita has made eight appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, but only in one of those appearances did the midfielder complete a full 90 minutes (per Transfermarkt).
In his appearance in yesterday’s victory over Genk, Keita was awarded a 6/10 from (This is Anfield).
Faded…as usual. We could do so much better for our No 8. Sell & replace in summer.

What do we think?
It’s clear that injuries have plagued Keita’s time in England and have staggered his progression and consistency in the team. But when he does have the opportunity to show what he can do in a game, like in yesterday’s win against Genk, he doesn’t always manage to get things right.
If he wants to really cement a place in the first team, Keita needs a consistent run of games and good performances in order to show Jurgen Klopp that he can deliver something the other Liverpool central-midfielders can’t.
