Liverpool fans have been expressing their frustrations on Twitter with the dismissal of a couple of January transfer rumours.
This wave of disappointment came after Liverpool journalist James Pearce shared a post on his official Twitter account dismissing some recent rumours of Liverpool’s potential January targets.
Pearce ended his tweet by claiming that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is “happy with his midfield options”.
This tweet then gathered a number of replies who were dismayed by the club’s apparent lack of any upcoming January transfers, particularly any incoming midfielders.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans disappointed with Pearce’s tweet:
Gini 28
Hendo 29
Lallana 30
Milner 33We need more youth in that midfield

We do need to get younger in this side everyone getting close to 30 at the same time need to get younger this summer

Pearce’s tweet dismissed claims of a January swoop for Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and shut down rumours of interest in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.
These dismissals of January transfers, as well as the lack of any legitimate targets for the Merseyside club, has not gone down well with some Reds fans who want to see new recruits in the upcoming window.
Bad news Pearce

What do we think?
Considering how the last January transfer window saw Liverpool make the massive £75 million capture of Virgil van Dijk (per Transfermarkt), it’s understandable why some Reds fans would like their club to dip back into their funds and bring a potential new star to Anfield.
