Chelsea fans have been sharing their opinions on Twitter that Reece James should start against Manchester City in their next game.
These calls for the full-back to start come after Chelsea fan news account @CFCNewsReport shared a post on their page asking their followers who should start at right-back against City – James or Cesar Azpilicueta.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Chelsea fans that insisted on James to start at right-back ahead of Azpilicueta.
Here’s a sample of Chelsea fans wanting James to start against City:
It has to be Reece…u want to see Sterling turned into another zaha

The 19-year-old has made 11 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea so far this season, scoring two and assisting two along the way (per Transfermarkt), with his first Premier League start coming in the 2-0 victory against Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace side (BBC Sport).

Recee James is far better because we’ve over used Asplicueta. Lampard should allow Recee James to cage Sterling that day.

I know Azpi has experience but i’d still pick reece for his overall work-rate and physical strength , yet he’s pacey , azpi is slow and i don’t like him at RB position he’s good at LB

What do we think?
In the recent game against Palace, James earned himself a match rating of 7.1, according to WhoScored, for his impressive defensive display against Wilfred Zaha. If he can keep Zaha under wraps, perhaps he can do the same against the unstoppable force of Raheem Sterling.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will have to use this two-week break to decide if he should continue with James at right-back or rely on a more experienced head in the form of Azpilicueta.
