Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their opinions on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and how he needs to improve to earn a place in the Liverpool midfield.
This comes after Liverpool journalist James Pearce shared a post on his official page of an article he wrote about how the Englishman can get into Liverpool’s midfield.
Pearce’s caption on the tweet led to a number of replies from Liverpool fans sharing their opinions on what Oxlade-Chamberlain needs to do to earn a place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool calling for Oxlade-Chamberlain to improve his game:
He doesn’t. We don’t need a player like him. We need players who constantly run, press, and cover for the full backs. Not a link player for the forwards. Our system doesn’t work with it. Big fan of ox and I’m gutted he doesn’t start. But I don’t see where.

He needs to stop giving the ball away in midfield

He doesn’t, our midfield has been world class this season

The 26-year-old, who is currently valued at £31.5 million, according to Transfermarkt, has only made two Premier League starts for the European Champions this season (per Transfermarkt). Despite the midfielder scoring for England in their 7-0 thrashing of Montenegro in their Euro 2020 qualifying clash on Thursday, some Liverpool fans aren’t sure on whether Oxlade-Chamberlain deserves a spot in Liverpool’s starting XI.

He has to do what Fab has done. Make himself indispensable

To make choice XI, he’s got to transform himself into a well-rounded midfield player who can attack as well as do some good off-the-ball tracking/marking in the midfield. As it is, the Manager clearly wants solidity in midfield and Ox doesn’t fit into it.

What do we think?
If a starting spot for Liverpool is what Oxlade-Chamberlain is aiming for, he is going about it in completely the right way, with five goals and one assist in his previous seven games for club and country (per WhoScored).
No one can deny the midfielder as a goal-scoring threat, but it seems that some Liverpool fans are still concerned about his defensive game when not in possession. If Oxlade-Chamberlain can improve this side of his game, he would have a stronger chance of starting for Liverpool more often.
