Some Celtic fans have expressed their anger at the club’s decision about a partial closure of the rail seating section at Celtic Park for the upcoming Europa League clash against Rennes.
The club’s statement has revealed that the decision has been taken to tackle the use of pyrotechnics and prevent overcrowding in the stadium. It has also been done to avoid offensive chants and banners from the fans.
But the statement goes onto claim that this comes in the light of significant sanctions that were imposed on the club after the fans were using pyrotechnics in the European matches against CFR Cluj and AIK Stockholm.
Some of the Hoops fans are furious with the decision.
Embarrassing. Yous aren’t getting another Celtic Christmas ad view from me. And I’ve been watching it twice daily.

Celtic FC must be better than this. The GB is part of the family and have contributed so much to our reputation as „ best fans in the world“.
Find a way to accommadate the Bhoys with Pyros…— Joseph Hamilton (@JoeOnei70570554) November 26, 2019
Unfair decision and action. Even in so much as the timing aspect of it. Looks cynical and cruel. Club should reverse the decision with immediate effect as so many are being punished for the actions of a few. Deal with the issue by all means, but do so fairly and justly.

Celtic are currently at the top of the Scottish Premiership and are also at the top of their Europa League group. They are currently one point clear of Cluj, who are at second in the Europa League group. Indeed, they’re also ahead of Rangers on goal difference in the Premiership.
The Hoops have managed to beat Serie A giants Lazio in the last two Europa League games and that has dented the Biancocelesti’s hopes of moving into the knockout stages. Both were 2-1 defeats and Lazio are now third in the group, seven points adrift of the Bhoys.
Their next European clash will see them face French side Stade Rennes on Thursday. The club is currently at the bottom of the group with just one point and that point came in their 1-1 draw against Neil Lennon’s men themselves.
What do we think?
It is obvious that the fans have to abide by the regulations that the club has put out. And it is a fair one considering how the club came in the bad light of the authorities because of what the fans did in the previous Europa League games. And it is the duty of the club to abide by the rules.
