Celtic fans on Twitter have been urging the club to ‘break the bank’ and sign Mohamed Elyounoussi on a permanent basis.
The Norway international is enjoying a rich vein of form for the Bhoys since making the loan move from Southampton at the end of August.
He was on the scoresheet twice in Saturday’s 5-2 victory over Hibernian in the Scottish League Cup, a win that sent the Hoops to their fourth consecutive final where they’ll take on Old Firm rivals Rangers in December.
Fans took to social media to echo previous sentiments of keeping the player for a more permanent spell at Parkhead.

Pay the money and sign him up

Quality player with plenty of talent. I hope he’s able to force his way out of Southampton by hook or by crook and stays with us permanently. We got the funds.
No point in him going back to mediocrity now that he’s experienced immortality.

He’s looked a class player but there’s the small matter of £16 million saints paid and whatever he’s earning probably £50k plus, length of his contract and whether he would want to stay in spfl.

Improving with every game. Proves that confidence for wingers makes a difference. Our options middle to front are frightening when it all clicks. Eddy is the fulcrum though, everything goes through him, even if he doesn’t score his influence is huge

Happily break record for him

What do we think?
Another week, another heap of goals for the Norwegian. He looks like he’s enjoying his football again after a rather torrid time on the south coast and has seven goals in his ten appearances to date, as well as five assists (TransferMarkt). The shouts are getting louder for him to stay at Parkhead for a longer spell but the player and club have stayed relatively quiet on the matter thus far.
