Some Birmingham City fans have slated club’s left-back Kristian Pedersen for his disappointing performances for the club so far this season.
The 25-year-old Dane has been a regular for City this season, playing as many as 16 times in the Championship so far. Despite being a left-back, he has scored three goals too, with one of them coming when he was playing at centre-back.
He has scored twice in the last three games for the club, with one coming in the 2-1 win over Luton and the other coming in the 4-2 loss to Cardiff away from home (TransferMarkt).
Some Blues fans though, have been critical of the defender and feel that they need better from him to move forward.

Camp’s error got him off the hook for his mistake in the lead up to the goal on Saturday. Improving yes, but nowhere near good enough

Think he needs to improve his crossing but other than that he’s good

Pedersen arrived at the St. Andrews from the then 2. Bundesliga club Union Berlin in the summer of 2018 for a fee of around £2.2million.
Since joining, the defender has played 55 times in all competitions for Birmingham. He has found the back of the net four times during this period, assisting twice as well.
As per WhoScored, Pedersen has been Birmingham’s best player this season with a rating of 7.19 – higher than striker Lucas Jutkiewicz. The Dane has won the highest number of tackles per game for the club with 2.9. He has also won the third-highest number interceptions per game for the club.
Some fans also gave positive remarks about the defender and feel that he is doing well.
The guy is brilliant yet still gets slated by some of our fans

He can be a bit too eager to get forward & gets caught out every so often but I still love him. Perfect championship left back for me. Can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want him in the side.

Can’t argue with that

While Pep Clotet’s men have lost their last two games, they will get a chance to go back to winning ways when they host Huddersfield Town away from home after the international break.
What do we think?
It is fair to say that Pedersen is an important player for Birmingham. Some criticism he has got is unwarranted, but he isn’t a perfect player. The Dane gets dispossessed 0.6 times per game and has had 0.8 bad touches per game this season. He needs to improve this, along with the fact that he has also been dribbled past 0.6 times per game so far.
