Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been pleading on Twitter for the controversial VAR to be completely scrapped from the current game.
This comes after official Aston Villa news account @AVFC_News shared a post on their page asking Villa fans their opinions on VAR, should it be kept or scrapped.
A lot of Villa fans responded to this tweet unfavourably towards VAR.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans calling for VAR to be scrapped immediately:
I’d scrap it until they can use it properly.

VAR (Video Assistant Referee) has made several decisions that have not gone in the Birmingham club’s favour this year. But, VAR went in Villa’s favour by denying Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino a first-half goal for being marginally offside in their last clash with the Reds. This decision, while going in Villa’s favour, has become a big talking point in the VAR debate that has raged since the beginning of the season.
Scrap it, it’s not working properly and causing more problems than solutions. Also fans aren’t kept up to date with what part of the goal is being checked #AVFC

Scrap it, it’s the most horrible thing ever to happen to football, sat down to breakfast this morn and the whole conversation was about VAR not the games over the weekend, are we going to watch football or VAR, football isn’t other sports & it doesn’t work, get rid.

What do we think?
The use of VAR in its current state and how it has been implemented or not implemented in certain scenarios has been unavoidable for any football fan this season. When the main talking point of a football match is on a VAR decision instead of the actual game of football, that’s when it becomes a problem. Right now, the idea of a fully-working accurate VAR is a much better than what we have in our game at this moment in time.
