After another disappointing result against Burnley, these West Ham United fans want to see Nathan Holland given a run in the first-team after impressing for the developmental side.
West Ham Fan TV member Ryan Archer tweeted out his suggestion for the 21-year-old to be given a run over the next few games. With Manuel Lanzini out, perhaps, this has a larger chance of happening. The Argentine fractured his collarbone in the 3-0 loss to Burnley and is now set for some time on the sidelines while he recovers from surgery.
Holland has eight goals and five assists in 10 Premier League 2 games and his most natural position is left-wing having played this position in his last 10 matches. The youngster has also shown leadership qualities, having been made the captain of the U23’s during their fixture against Stoke U23’s, in a match that they went on to win 4-0, with the young winger getting two goals that day.
Although, he has only appeared once in the first-team this season, which came in the Carabao Cup.
Big call but I would give @NHo11and a chance in the next few games. He is on fire for the U23’s and could give not only the team a lift but also the crowd. Nothing to lose give the boy a chance #COYI #Talent pic.twitter.com/prZeuWHqEs

Spot on mate but Pelle will only play his players to justify £150m spent in them

Drop the whole first team for the under 23 and make the first team earn the spot back

Holland would bring a pace and skillset that we lack so much lately. Even having him off the bench an option would provide us with an opportunity for a different option that we don’t currently have. Holland has been superb all season and would be fully deserving of a call up.

Completely disagree mate. It isn’t a big call, it’s common sense.

Anderson in the middle with Holland on wing, with Antonio on the other wing.

Would rather him than Anderson to be honest. Also that striker that’s banging in goals, let him partner Haller up top

What Do We Think?
Like some of the fans have pointed out, West Ham can’t be doing much worse so what’s the harm? Maybe Manuel Pellegrini isn’t willing to take this risk due to his own job being at risk.
However, now Lanzini is injured there must be at least a spot on the bench for Holland, as playing in similar positions makes him one of the choice’s Pellegrini can call upon.
