Spurs fans are not impressed by their latest rumour; which suggests the club may try and sign FC Metz striker Habib Diallo in the upcoming transfer window.
According to TEAMtalk (via Ricky Sacks) Spurs are extensively scouting the 24-year-old, who has hit eight goals in Ligue 1 so far this season and could sign the striker for as little as £10 million in January. The Senegalese striker has averaged an impressive 7.04 so far this season, which is unsurprisingly attracting plenty of European clubs.
Diallo helped Metz to promotion last season, hitting 26 goals in the second division, and has continued his electric form in France’s top league. His side are currently struggling just above the relegation zone, which demonstrates just how important Diallo’s goals have been for Metz this season, but a move away in January is certainly on the table.
However, a lot of Spurs fans are not too impressed with the news that they are interested in the 24-year-old, as can be seen in the tweets below.
A number of fans even compared the striker to former Spurs flop Clinton Njie, who failed to score in his 14 appearances for the North London club.
Yep – because we really need another striker !

Sorry spurs and levy! You’ve totally lost the plot now! The future is looking very bad indeed. We need a new chairman i think.

It seems as if a lot of Spurs fans are not keen on signing Diallo in January and would prefer funds to be utilised elsewhere.
What do we think?
Diallo has proven that he can score goals in the last couple of seasons and with the usually reliable Harry Kane showing against Sheffield United that he cannot always be the saviour, then perhaps Diallo could prove to be an effective option off the substitutes’ bench for Spurs.
It would not be a surprise if Pochettino tries to bring Diallo in on a cut-price deal as a back-up, but the majority of fans see defensive signings as the priority.
