Spurs fans were left very upset on Twitter this week after Alasdair Gold revealed a final statement from Mauricio Pochettino following his sacking earlier this month.
The statement, which comes courtesy of Henry Winter (via Alasdair Gold), and includes Pochettino thanking the board, staff, players, and fans for their support during his time at the club. The Argentinian joined up with Spurs from Southampton in 2014 and enjoyed a successful five years with the club before his sacking on November 19th.
Despite Spurs’ dreadful start to the season which had seen them drop as low as 14th in the Premier League, many fans still hold him in high esteem for all the work he did during his time there. The Argentinian manager won 160 of his 293 games in charge of Spurs, as well as taking them to the Champions League final, but he just wasn’t able to secure any silverware in North London.
Do you think Pochettino could return to Spurs in the future?

Going to remain the single most thing I Hate about how my my club is run at the moment. at least 4 years of achievement beyond realistic expectations – 6 months in to the next chapter he brought our team to and he’s thrown under the bus by people who say they care about the club.

Betrayed. Still angry at the club. Feels hollow and struggling to feel any affinity with it anymore. No person is bigger than the club – but feels like some feel they can run it the way they please. No values, no integrity. Not the Spurs I love.

Spurs fans are clearly big supporters of Pochettino, with kinds words flooding in for the Argentine.
What do we think?
Pochettino did a superb job as Spurs manager but was harmed by his inability to win any trophies with the North London club, as well as being let down by several key players early in the season.
He should go down as a Spurs legend for the way he has helped to transform them into Champions League regulars and it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise to see him go on to enjoy great success elsewhere.
