Spurs fans were singing the praises of their homegrown striker Harry Kane on Twitter last night after the striker bagged a hat-trick in England’s 7-0 demolition of Montenegro.

Kane came through the youth academy at Spurs and made his debut for the club in a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle in 2012. Since then, the 26-year-old has gone on to make 268 appearances for the North London club; scoring an impressive 174 goals. In scoring a treble against Montenegro last night, Kane also became the first England player to score consecutive hat-tricks at a national stadium.

The England captain has been one of few bright sparks in Spurs’ season so far; averaging a 7.26 rating in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. It seems as if the North London side are more reliant on their  striker than ever; with Kane having contributed to 38% of Spurs’ goals in the Premier League.

Reaction from Spurs fans to Kane’s latest goalscoring exploits can be seen in the tweets below.

Spurs fans were clearly delighted with Kane’s performance against Montenegro and will be hoping he can bring some of his international form back with him to Spurs ahead of their game against West Ham next weekend.

What do we think?

Kane is in an excellent position to go and break Wayne Rooney’s England goal-scoring record in the next few years and is arguably one his way to establishing himself as a Spurs and England great.

However, Spurs may be worried that if their current poor form cannot be turned around, then their homegrown striker may well seek a move away in the upcoming transfer windows; although it would take a huge bid to prize the £135 million rated (as per Transfermarkt) man away from Spurs.
