As reported by Italian journalist Nicolo Schira via Twitter, Napoli are interested in Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira. The Uruguayan is said to be unhappy in North London and has demanded showdown talks with the club’s chiefs. The 23-year-old’s stance has put a host of clubs on red alert including Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli.
Torreira’s arrival at Arsenal was met with huge excitement but he appears to be out of favour these days, starting just four times in the Premier League this season and it seems these supporters are ok with the idea of him moving on just 14 months after he joined the club.
We should just let him go and get doucoure from watford lol watford will get relegated anyways

What do we think?
Torreira, who is valued at £49.5 million (Transfermarkt), is a defensive midfielder by trade. However, it seems Unai Emery prefers to deploy the player further forward in an attempt to utilise his tenacity when trying to dispossess opponents further up the field. That hasn’t gone down well with the supporters or the player it seems and multiple outlets (via Gazetta dello sport) are reporting the Uruguayan could leave in the upcoming January transfer window.
Perhaps in the long-term Torreira isn’t the solution to Arsenal’s midfield imbalance but allowing him to leave without finding a suitable replacement would be counter-productive at such a crucial time in the season.
