Despite Christian Eriksen putting in a strong display against Olympiakos on Tuesday night, a lot of Spurs fans were still critical of the 27-year-old after the game.
Eriksen replaced Eric Dier in midfield with just 29 minutes on the clock, with Spurs trailing 2-0 and Jose Mourinho seeking a tactical change. The substitution paid off for the new Spurs boss, as the home side were able to turn things around and secure qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League and Eriksen was a big part of that comeback.
LastWordonSpurs tweeted out his statistics from the game; which showed that the Danish international contributed an assist, as well as several key passes and created chances.
Despite this, fans were still critical of the wantaway man, with the former Ajax man still looking unlikely to sign a new contract with the club and is expected to depart on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Dont know what game these stats based on. Apart from set piece cross his passing was poor corner as per usual and effort at tackles embarrassing. Please give Lo Celso a go.

So one game in 18/20 months then otherwise his contributions have been abysmal

No. Just no. Respect to a player who thinks he’s bigger than the club?

Get rid of him

These Spurs fans are clearly still not keen on Eriksen despite him putting in a fairly decent performance, with the majority of Spurs fans seeming to want him gone as soon as possible.
What do we think?
Despite his current contract stance, Mourinho has made it clear that Eriksen has to show a desire to play for the team if he wants to get on the pitch and he certainly put in a good display against Olympiakos. Many Spurs fans might be blinded after he stated he wanted to leave the club in the summer, but a 7.63 rating against the Greek side was fully justified and we may well see the 27-year-old come back to his best under Mourinho.
