Some Manchester United fans have made it clear that they would love to see RB Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old is the son of former Leeds United and Manchester City midfielder Alfe-Inge Haaland and was born in Leeds too.
The striker has been one of the best goalscorers in Europe so far this season, having scored 23 times in all competitions for the club. He has made 17 appearances, also having racked up a tally of six assists too, per Transfermarkt.
Reports have recently revealed that the Norwegian is being valued at £86 million by the Austrian giants. Some United fans feel that the fee should not be a point of discussion in a potential deal.
Haaland now has 7 Champions League goals in 4 games.
Salzburg want £86M for the 19-year-Old.
News flash Salzburg, you’re not in one of the top 5 leagues. Since when did Austrian clubs command those kind of fees regardless of talent?

Money in football doesn’t really matter anymore. The price never tell how good a player is. If uniteds price is 86m, Ajax can get him for 50m.

Why cant they demand that sort of money though ? Regardless of the league. If they have a unbelievable talent they have every right to try get as much as possible.Just like everyone else does.

Makes sense tbh. Young. Only signed for them in the summer. Absolutely in the form of his life.

If he’s worth it, he’s worth it! Makes no difference what league they are!
Not convinced he is yet, but on the flip side, wouldn’t wanna miss out! We brought Pogba back and he didn’t work the first time, not convinced he’s working now, but hey ho, that’s now our lives as a fans!— Adam Warburton (@AdsDeadDads) November 6, 2019
Get him now

Haaland was on the scoresheet for Salzburg in their 1-1 draw against Italian giants Napoli in the Champions League, weeks after grabbing a brace against the Partenopei in the reverse fixture.
In the Champions League, the striker has scored as many as seven times. He also scored twice against Liverpool, grabbing a hat-trick against Genk. But on Tuesday, Haaland became the fourth player in history to score in each of his first four appearances.
Only Zé Carlos, Alessandro Del Piero and Diego Costa have achieved this feat in the past. Some United fans feel that their club’s financial prowess and the need for a striker will make them shell out the big money on the youngster.
Since they knew clubs like United are cashed up and desperate.

In fairness it’s not an unrealistic valuation in this market especially when you see some sides struggling to fill the spot he plays in.

Haaland knows Ole Gunnar Solskjaer well from their time together at Molde till around last winter. Ole joined United as the interim manager in late December, whereas Haaland left Molde for Salzburg in the January transfer window.
What do we think?
Haaland’s numbers show that he’s one of the most potent strikers in football today. United sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter this past summer but failed to bring in a proper striker. Haaland fits the bill, considering he is a young player like the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James. If United get the chance, they should do everything to sign the Norwegian.
