Liverpool fans were treated to some pictures of their new training ground in Kirkby on Wednesday afternoon and a lot of fans seem to be impressed.
James Pearce tweeted pictures of the new training ground, which is set to open in 2020 and will replace the Reds’ current complex at Melwood. The journalist described the new facility as “very impressive” despite it not yet being finished, although it is expected to be ready in time for next season.
It is a welcome boost for Liverpool, who have been at Melwood since the 1950s, although it has been regularly redeveloped and now features some of the best training facilities in the world.
However, Kirkby is expected to be a further improvement for the Champions League holders and will no doubt help Jurgen Klopp’s side push on even further in the future.
Reaction from Reds fans to the photos of their new training ground can be seen in the tweets below.

These Reds fans are clearly delighted with their new training ground and will be hoping that it proves to be as successful and as long-standing as Melwood has been for them. Of course, waving goodbye to Melwood will be emotional for many supporters, players and staff, but the club are moving on to better things.
