Everton supporters have Tom Davies lined up as the club’s next captain after a recent interview with the midfielder.
The 21-year-old Englishman bagged the Toffees’ opener in their 2-1 victory away at Southampton on Saturday, with a perfectly anticipated header (via BBC).
Having spoken about how he wants to improve as a player for the Goodison Park club (via The Mirror), supporters could not help but wax lyrical about their man and line him up as the club’s next captain.

The 21-year-old has been involved in the first-team set-up at Goodison Park for just over three years, since his Premier League debut in a 1-1 draw with Southampton in 2016 (as per Transfermarkt).
Ironically, following his last performance – against the club he made his first – fans have pinpointed the Englishman as a solution to Marco Silva’s woes this season (via Independent).
Should of started at Villa away and beyond we’d be higher up the table, another mistake from Silva to keep persisting with two slow sideways holding midfield players.

What do we think?
It is time for Davies to start nailing down a regular and consistent starting spot in the Everton lineup if he is to ever realise the potential that he has at his disposal.
With now possibly the best time due to the Toffees’ recent midfield injuries (per Liverpool Echo), the 21-year-old will have to keep himself in Silva’s good books to stake a claim for future captaincy.
