Everton supporters have aired their anger over Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min’s latest comments following the injury to Andre Gomes.
The South Korean attacker bagged a brace for Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night in their 4-0 away victory over Red Star (via Talk Sport).
Following the game, Son spoke to BT Sport in a post-match interview and expressed how difficult the previous week had been for him, and also said he was “really sorry” for Gomes’ injury (via BBC).
With Toffees supporters still reeling over Spurs’ 27-year-old attacker receiving most of the sympathy (as per Sport witness), there was more displeasure over his latest comments.
Wheres the apology? He apologises for the accident. Which noones denying. But he needs to apologise for causing the injury.

Following the injury to Everton’s Portuguese midfielder, the 26-year-old has had successful surgery on his fractured and dislocated ankle and has returned to Finch Farm for rehabilitation (per The Independent).
With Gomes set to spend several months on the sidelines for the Merseyside club, Son dedicated one of his celebrations to the midfielder on Wednesday night – which also had supporters livid.
Classy would be an apology in person (which he may well have done – I don’t know). Not a big public show / PR stunt. https://t.co/HJWWNIPWn5

I’m sure Gomes will feel much better after that, yenno instead of him actually just meeting him and saying sorry https://t.co/2GyHfyeJKG

Embarrassing….too be hinedt modern day footballers are embarrassing and childish. For all the world to see, apologise in private and let it go.

Classy would have been not appealing the ban and as you say apologising in person. Mistakes happen but zero respect for how him and spurs have behaved in aftermath

What do we think?
There is absolutely no doubting that the injury caused by Son was an accident, and the South Korean attacker had no negative intentions.
However, it is key to remember that Gomes is the injured party, and while it may have been tough for Son to have seen himself cause the injury, Everton’s Portuguese midfielder should be receiving all of the pity (via Sports witness).
Having said that, it is difficult to see what more Spurs’ 27-year-old could do on the apology front (per BBC), other than to perhaps visit the player to further apologise.
