As November begins, clubs around the country look towards their fans to nominate the standout performers for the month gone by. Sunderland Football Club were no different, asking their loyal supporters to choose their Play of the Month for October.
The club posted on Twitter, asking fans to make their nominations. As votes began to flood in, a clear favourite began to emerge. Luke O’Nien, the 24-year-old defender has scored two diving headers in his last two home games. It was an obvious choice for some fans.
Definitely o nien he’s the only one that plays in every match

But despite the defender’s two goals, there were many fans who opted to scratch their ballots, claiming that nobody deserves the award. One fan suggested that the only person to consistently show up and do their job was the bus driver.
None of them

None of the players deserve any award!

How about none of them?

The team bus driver. Only one to turn up and put a shift in consistently.

What do we think?
While it is nice for O’Nien to score two goals in a month, it is clear that Sunderland fans aren’t happy enough with anyone’s performance. Hopefully, this can push Sunderland players to improve their game and start fighting for the fans.
