In a pre-planned meeting, Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Venkatesham met with some of the clubs staff and released a statement in which they reiterated their support for under-fire Head Coach Unai Emery.
The comments came to light just a day after David Ornstein’s piece in the Athletic and was in complete alignment with what he had already been reported.
But despite the well-structured comments ultimately designed to reinforce the report published the day before it’s not gone down well with these supporters.

There isn’t a single thing Emery has done right to make anyone think he’s the right man, get him gone.

Very wrong. First thing is to identify the problem and fix it before it spreads. Emery is the problem. Stop hiding. Just say u cant pay £6 million. Emery out now

He’s lost the squad. Getting that back is akin to trying to climb Everest in flip-flops. They’ve found him out. He is exposed as an empty suit. You’d be doing him a mercy by letting him go now. Waiting? For what?

What do we think?
It appears Emery’s position remains secure, at least in the eyes of the board. However, his relationship with the fans is at breaking point and until there is an up-turn in both results and performances that will always be the case.
Emery’s handling of situations such as those involving Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil have demonstrated that not only is he tactically the wrong man for the job but also raise questions over his man-management skills. With each passing week, the Spaniard’s grip on the job loosens slightly and the pressure on Sanllehi and company increases.
