Darren Bent has sat down a spoken exclusively to Football Insider about the latest QSI and Leeds United takeover talk.

Football Insider had revealed at the beginning of November that Andrea Radrizzani valued Leeds United at £300m, should they gain promotion to the Premier League in two years time.

Darren Bent had this to say when speaking to Football Insider:

“I heard the rumours that they were going to get taken over by somebody. If they were able to get that as well, wow, big things for Leeds because Leeds are a big, big club.

“If they could somehow get promoted and then they get taken over, Leeds is a great city as well so there’s going to be no shortage of takers down there.”

The frontrunners for most of the talks have been QSI or Qatar Sports Investments, ESPN has recently reported that QSI were ‘getting a step closer‘ to making some sort of a deal at Elland Road. QSI currently own Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1, which is a club with huge household names such as Neymar Jr, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

We can’t see any of these names joining the Peacocks anytime soon, but it does show the amount of money these investors would be willing to spend on a project, which should be very positive news for any Leeds fan.

Verdict

We feel if Leeds want to get to and stay at the highest level of English football, they are going to need money and lots of it, which is something QSI can offer and have proved it at PSG. Another interesting fact is that the PSG Cafe in Qatar has recently been closed, which could be just coincidence but is something to think about.
