Sunderland’s loss to Burton midweek marks Phil Parkinson’s ninth game without a win in his 11 games in charge (WhoScored.com). It puts a promotion spot even further out of reach (Sky Sports).
While the loss itself was devastating, the record called Parkinson’s credibility into question. Over the last few seasons, Sunderland fans have seen many unsuccessful managers take the reigns at the Stadium of Light. However, such a poor start has caused fans to question whether or not Parkinson is, in fact, the worst manager Sunderland have ever had.
Worst manager in the clubs history

Pushing Moyes close for the worst manager in our history.

Can somebody work out if that’s actually the highest loss ratio of any Sunderland manager ever? It’s got to be close. In league one.

Is Parkinson the worst manager in Sunderland’s history?
Is Parkinson the worst manager in Sunderland's history?
Yes
No
Others compared Parkinson’s record to that of his predecessor, Jack Ross. They can’t believe that the club’s management replaced Ross with someone so incompetent.
Lost more in 11 games than Ross did over 1 season . Simply put, FRAUD.

Ross lost 10 in 75 odd and was considered the worst manager in history – this is just beyond belief

At the end of the day, supporters agree that this is unacceptable. Regardless of if he is the worst manager in their history or not, he must go.
Unacceptable

What do we think?
Whether Parkinson himself steps down or whether the board terminates his contract, the English manager’s future at Sunderland seems brief. If he is given a chance to turn it around, the results must come quickly. Time is running out.
