Some Manchester United fans are not fully sure that Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino should be the club’s next manager after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer joined United as the interim manager at the end of last year, but his move was made permanent in March earlier this year.

United are currently 10th in the Premier League, ten points off fourth-placed Chelsea and 18 points behind league-leaders Liverpool. They finished sixth last season, five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

The Red Devils have won only three Premier League games this season, beating Norwich, Chelsea and Leicester City.

Some United fans feel that Spurs boss Pochettino should succeed Solskjaer, whenever the Norwegian leaves.

Pochettino was linked with a move to United before Solskjaer came in, but the Norwegian’s impressive show as the interim boss saw the club appoint the former striker as the permanent boss.

He has been at Tottenham since the summer of 2014 and his tenure at the club has seen the rise of players like Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and many others that have gone on to impress.

This season though, Spurs have struggled. They find themselves at 11th in the Premier League, level on points with United but only behind on goal difference.

Some United fans are split on who should succeed Solskjaer. They’re pointing at names like Erik ten Hag and RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann.

Ten Hag has been linked with the vacant hotspot at Bayern Munich recently, as the Bavarians sacked Niko Kovac recently.

United though, have also been linked with a move for former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri. Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Italian is learning English and is keen on a move to Old Trafford soon.

What do we think?

This season might not have been going too well for Pochettino. However, the way he has built Spurs into a European giant who play in the Champions League is something United will look at in awe. When he started off, Spurs were pretty much like how United currently are but he took the club into their first-ever Champions League final last season.

The way he has built players like Kane, Eriksen and Alli into household names from youngsters is something United will want to happen at Old Trafford as well, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they made a move for the Argentine at some point in the future.
